Teaming Up
Orthopedic Institute has been serving the region for over 40 years. Our history has been marked by partnerships built on shared values and vision. Most recently, Orthopedic Institute and CORE Orthopedics and Sports Medicine formalized a partnership, on January 1, 2019, to strengthen our position as an independent practice focused solely on exceptional orthopedic care and to broaden the reach and impact of this care to more individuals in this region. Our team has grown to include 16 orthopedic surgeons, one pain medicine physician, one physiatrist, 19 physician assistants/nurse practitioners, 15 physical therapists, six occupational therapists, 11 athletic trainers, and over 215 employees.
Past Partnerships
Orthopedic Institute was formed in 1999 when the Midwest Orthopedic Center practice and the Orthopedic Sports Medicine practice merged. The merger of these two practices brought together the largest orthopedic group in the region and established itself as the premier location to work in orthopedics and receive sports medicine and orthopedic care. Surgeons from these practices had been providing orthopedic services since the 1970s. Orthopedic Associates was established in 1973 and became CORE Orthopedics in 2001. Orthopedics and Sports Medicine was founded in 1980. The Midwest Orthopedic Center began as the VandeMark Clinic in 1978.
