I’ve only seen Dr. Wingate once. He was extremely thorough in studying my history with neck and back problems and the treatments I’d had over the years. While there are very few procedures available to me surgically, he offered me the possibility of some alleviation that had not been attempted previously. We are in the process of checking this out.
Great to work with you!
Dr. Tom Stotz
Fast, friendly, efficient! Thanks!
All the staff I dealt with were very nice and friendly. The doctor explained everything that was wrong with me so I understood.
I feel very cared for at every visit. Whether it is the X-ray technicians, the nurses, the receptionists, or the doctors, everyone is so welcoming and kind. Everyone wants me to have the best possible outcome!
I had a L5/S1 fusion surgery three months ago. It took me forever to decide to go with surgery. Dr. Wingate was very patient with all of my concerns and questions and I never felt rushed at any appointment. I was unable to walk very far or stand before surgery because of pain down my leg. Now I can walk without pain and am so thankful for that. Dr. Wingate is an excellent surgeon willing to take the time to listen to his patients and very careful and skilled in the surgery he does.
He is wonderful to work with. He is very patient and answers all your questions. He put me at ease when making decisions regarding my lower back. Would recommend him. The care I have received has been wonderful and very comprehensive.
OI has outstanding staff and doctors. They are with you every step of the way—before and after surgery. It has been YEARS since I felt this good. Thanks to Team Wingate (including the spine therapy department) performing a successful ACDF C6/7. I definitely recommend.
Dr. Wingate and staff are the best! Dr. Wingate shares his knowledge and expertise in a wonderful way. I have and will continue to recommend him to all of my friends and family.
The doctor and staff were very patient with me. His treatment greatly improved my situation, after three hours of agony (not his fault, by the way). Doing MUCH better today.
My family feels grateful for and indebted to Dr. Wingate of Orthopedic Institute Sioux Falls for effectively saving my father’s life. Dad had been having excruciating back pain for an extended period of time, but all of his imaging came back relatively normal. Because of Dr. Wingate’s keen observations of my dad and his willingness to listen to the specific nature of symptoms, he continued pursuing the elusive cause of pain. He asked questions, consulted with colleagues, and then consulted with colleagues again. With the help of a neuroradiologist they discovered that Dad had an infection in his back. Further testing revealed that the infection had not only caused discitis and osteomyelitis, but it had gone septic. Dr. Wingate called us after hours, visited Dad in the hospital when he wasn’t on duty or even on-call, and patiently answered our many questions. He gave us his cell phone number, and we communicated with him personally over the weekend. Thank you, Orthopedic Institute, for seeing Dad in a timely manner after the initial call. Thank you, Dr. Wingate and Orthopedic Institute, for your willingness to listen, for persisting until you uncovered the source of Dad’s discomfort, and for setting him on the path to recovery.
I had spinal fusion surgery this past May. Dr. Matthew Wingate was my surgeon. The results of my surgery were better than I ever expected. I completely trust Dr Wingate and would highly recommend him! All the staff that I have come in contact with at OI have also been wonderful. I cannot say enough good things about my experience there.
Dr. Wingate was very good about explaining everything along with the other staff and nursing staff was great.
I have always had good results when coming here!
I went with my mother to see Dr. Wingate for her back/leg issue. He worked her into his schedule so a short wait was expected. However, he didn’t rush his time with her and discussed her options fully. He didn’t mind my questions and even explained how to read an MRI to me. Thanks so much for that. I couldn’t have been more impressed.
