Andrew earned a degree in Biological Sciences from Colorado State University in 2012. In 2017 he graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a master’s in physician assistant studies, performing rotations in the surgical fields of orthopedics, neurosurgery, and trauma.

Andrew joined Orthopedic Institute in July 2023 after spending five years in Fargo, ND, as an Orthopedic Trauma Physician’s Assistant. Serving orthopedic trauma patients has given Andrew a wide range of experience in urgent and emergent orthopedic issues that he feels provides him with a unique perspective and understanding of orthopedic patients. His role in orthopedic trauma led him to become certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Basic Life Support (BLS).

Andrew is excited about his new role working with Dr. Rasmussen and the variety of patients they can help. Andrew is proud to be part of an organization that strives to get patients back to doing what they love without pain.

Growing up in Colorado has instilled a love of the outdoors in Andrew. He enjoys mountain biking, skiing, camping, and playing in recreational adult hockey leagues. As an avid sports fan, he enjoys attending or watching hockey, football, and baseball games. Sioux Falls and the surrounding region will provide Andrew, his wife, and two daughters with plenty of parks and outdoor activities.
