A Collaborative Approach to Pain Relief at Orthopedic Institute

A Messaage from Our Pain Management Specialists: James T. Brunz, MD and K.C. Chang, MD

At Orthopedic Institute, we recognize how significantly pain can impact a person’s daily life—from sleep and mobility to work and overall well-being. As interventional pain management physicians, our shared mission is to help patients find meaningful relief and return to the activities they enjoy—often without surgery.

Though we come from different backgrounds, we are united by a deep commitment to patient care. Whether a patient is struggling with back pain, nerve pain, joint pain, or other chronic conditions, we focus on identifying and addressing the root cause. Our approach includes non-surgical treatment options like image-guided injections, nerve blocks, and spinal procedures, all tailored to the individual needs of each patient.

We are proud to work as part of the broader care team at Orthopedic Institute and in partnership with providers like you. Many patients are referred to us as a first step before surgical consideration; others benefit from our involvement as part of ongoing care. In all cases, our goal is to help patients move better, feel better, and live more fully.

Summer can be a time of activity, connection, and joy—but for patients dealing with chronic pain, it can also be a season of missed moments. We understand that pain does not take time off, and neither do we. Our team is here to support your patients year-round, with a compassionate and evidence-based approach to managing pain.

Thank you for trusting us with your patients’ care. We’re honored to be part of their healing journey—and to collaborate with you in helping them find relief.
